In this video, we demonstrate how to use the HuddleCamHD SimplTrack auto-tracking camera solution with the NewTek Connect Spark for distribution of low-latency IP video. The HuddleCamHD SimplTrack is a USB 3.0 auto-tracking camera that uses a USB 3.0 SDI capture card. This means that that the SDI input can also be used with solutions like the NewTek Connect Spark to provide IP video distribution to multiple computers on your network.
The HuddleCamHD Simpltrack uses two cameras to perform advanced auto-tracking of subjects for lecture capture. The top camera has 20X optical zoom to follow subjects in lecture capture scenarios from long distances. The bottom camera captures a wide field of view and can be using in conjunction with the SimplTrack software to optimize tracking capabilities. The NewTek Connect Spark fits nicely with the HuddleCamHD SimplTrack because everything can now be managed and accessible over your local area network. The Auto Tracking camera can quickly be managed using the IP based networking tools from HuddleCamHD. The NewTek Connect Spark makes low latency IP video available to users across your network without adding extensive bandwidth using Multicast.
As you can see the Newtek Connect Spark can be connected to the SimplTrack auto tracking camera system via HD-SDI and features a loop through to send the video back to the include SDI to USB converter. This allows users to connect the Newtek Connect Spark to a LAN (Local Area Network) and access the cameras video from multiple locations. The video is still accessible for video conferencing software such as GoToMeeting, WebEX and Skype using the SDI to USB capture card but also using the NewTek NDI transmit software. The NewTek NDI transmit software allows users to capture any NDI video source on your network and virtualize it into a USB usable driver. This driver can then be used as a webcam to open in your favorite video conferencing or distance learning application.
